The growth of blogging is phenomenal and Pinoy bloggers are no exceptions. There are so many kinds of bloggers. There are those who blog about their personal lives or about a particular subject. There are those who blog for the fun of it, while there are those who blog for money. There are, of course, blogs that tend to destroy others.
Sonnie Santos, who authors the blog Sonnie’s Porch, is starting a campaign to remind bloggers that the primary purpose of blogs is — or should be — to add value. If you believe in this advocacy and would want to show your support, you could link to this post and add the badge which appears at the right side. You could download the code for the badge here.
Sonnie’s Porch is a repository of Severo Santos’ thoughts – ramblings, reflections and anecdotes on entrepreneurship, career and corporate life, i.e., work-life balance, office politics, spiritual intelligence.
Severo E. Santos, also known to family and friends as Sonnie, and SES to colleagues, is into Motivational and “Self Help” stuff. Presently a Human Resource Generalist, Mentor and Trainer, he also authored several anecdotes on work issues and career development in the context of practical wisdom.
According to Sonnie, who is one of the first bloggers that became my acquaintance, he started with a yahoogroup two years back, then experimented with other blogging platforms. He eventually settled with his main site - Sonnie’s Porch (http://sesantos.com.ph) – sometime in 2006.
The stated mission of Sonnie’s Porch is to add value to blogging through, among others, blogs that impart leadership and management principles, impart HR Principles (Human Resources Management) to non-HR personnel, and advocate work-life-balance. The blog is also envisioned to be a pillar or porch where professionals and entrepreneurs can exchange views and speak their minds.
