I guess not. It seems plausible that the richest Pinoys would not have the time, more so the interest, to read blogs like this. They may have better things to do. Like making more millions. Or billions. Making tons of money is not, by itself, bad or evil. We all have different aspirations in life. Some may have simple dreams, which may include having a family to spend one’s success. For Pinoy Dads, it may include a healthy and stable family, a house to establish the family abode. Time to go out on vacation, relax and unwind. Simple joys. Although it may not hurt if you’re also one of the richest Filipinos circa 2011.
There are 11 Billionaires in the Top 40 Richest Pinoys. The rest, of course, are multimillionaires. The No. 1 of the top 40 richest Filipinos in 2001 has a net worth of 7.2 Billion. Yes, while we’re struggling to save by the thousands, or even by the hundreds, he has 7.2 Billion. And here’s the clincher — you have to multiply that amount with the existing exchange rate, roughly P43:US$1 to date, because 7.2 Billion is in US dollars.

Maybe there’s still time for us to work for our first billion. Not just a million, but a billion. And maybe it would help repeating this mantra: “I wanna be a billionaire so freakin’ bad”.
