And I’m Very Very Sorry

Tuesday, October 13th, 2009

Yesterday, my son was playing games in the laptop and, unknown to me, was tinkering with the files in it. He always had a problem double left-clicking with the laptop’s touch pad, so he sometimes go with the right click. I was wondering, after he used the laptop, why there are multiple copies of files on the desktop. It turned out that was the least of my concerns. (more…)

Encouraging Better Academic Performance in Kids

Tuesday, June 9th, 2009

Somebody noted that bribery, which he extended to corruption, started when we were kids. Our parents would often “bribe” us with a toy, money or something of value to us, for us to do something. Clean our room or the house, for instance. Or perhaps to study well in school. (more…)

Revenge of the Lolas

Saturday, May 16th, 2009

Grandparents seem to have this habit of loving grandchildren more than the parents of those grandchildren (apo). That phrase “parents of those grandchildren” means us, of course. For many of us new parents, this is rather strange because our children are twice removed from our respective parents, and so our parents’ love and loyalty should be stronger towards us. Or so we thought. (more…)

Spare the Rod, Spoil the Child

Wednesday, December 17th, 2008

Such a Loser, Yaya

Thursday, November 6th, 2008

There’s no question that the GMA7 show Bubble Gang is one of the more popular comedy shows in prime time television. I myself enjoyed, and still enjoy (whenever I have the time), watching it. The demands of work, as well as the fact that I’m too tired to watch anything after a long, grueling weekend, prevented me from watching it for a long time now. (more…)

The surname or family name is that which identifies the family to which he belongs and is continued from parent to child. (more…)

Dealing with the Terrible Two

Tuesday, July 1st, 2008

The frequency of “no” from the mouth of my son had been increasing for around two months now. Brush your teeth: No. It’s time to go to sleep: No. Let’s continue playing tomorrow: No. The only exception is when we ask him if he wants milk, to which he will nod his head with a smile. (more…)
