You may have noticed less Christmas decorations in place at this time of the year. In the previous years, you’ll see Christmas lights and colors going up as soon as the “ber” months start. When you drive around town or take the bus (or jeepney or whatever mode of transportation), take time to observe the homes along the way. Do you see as much decorations as compared to a similar time last year?
Anyway, just in time when we thought the Christmas revelry is slow to pick up this year, primarily due to the current financial crisis, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (or, to save you the hassle of memorizing that long name, let’s just settle with “PAGASA”) declared that the “chilly air associated with the Christmas season has arrived”.
Cool.
It’s now time to bring out the winter clothing you may have bought from the friendly ukay-ukay store. Or it could mean brushing up on Christmas shopping tips or Christmas savings and spending resolutions for the New Year. Of course we know that our usual budget spikes up during Christmas, something which may change with the financial crunch that is currently faced by everyone (in more intensity by those who lost their jobs when companies closed down). So, let’s see if you’re going to cut back on your spending spree this Christmas season. Please see the informal poll here.
