The Catholic Church is alarmed over the increasing number of Filipinos who are filing for annulment. You may have heard that in GMA News today. You may have also heard the strong debate over the reproductive health bill pending in Congress, with the Catholic Church actively opposing the proposed law.
Yet, you may not be aware that there’s also a pending proposal, continuing on the past initiatives, to enact a law legalizing divorce in the Philippines. There’s no visible opposition, no mass rallies, against this proposed law sponsored by Gabriela. Maybe those opposing the bill are confident that the law won’t pass anyway.
I don’t expect a divorce law to be passed in my lifetime.
But what do you think? Do you support the divorce bill? Do you think Filipinos should have a divorce law, just like in Italy, where the heart of the Catholic Church is located? If it’s true that so many Filipinos support such a proposal, why are there no signs of such support?

From this former Catholic who loves the Church so much that he formally defected from it over unjust divorce and easy annulments in the US.
NO,NO,NO,NO,NO,NO,NO.
Keep what you have. DO NOT BE LIKE AMERICA OR ITALY!!!!!!!!
Listen to this Father and Husband!!!!!!!!!
If you know any Bishops in the Philippines, give them my Email and have them email me I will tell them of the corruption I have seen, once I am sure who he is, if one or more write.
The American Church is a cesspool of corruption.
