EDSA People Power Anniversary on February 23, 2009: Holiday for Schools Only

You may have known by now that February 23, 2009 had been declared as a national special holiday — but only for schools, both public and private. This means a regular two-day weekend for the rest of us. A big disappointment for those who are anticipating another long weekend.

Here’s the full text of Proclamation No. 1728, declaring February 23 (a Monday, instead of the usual February 25) as a special holiday for all schools to commemorate the 23rd EDSA People Power Anniversary.
