Embarassing Bubbles of Thought

There are times when, all alone and for no apparent reason, you suddenly blush and just feel terribly embarrassed. A stray thought just casually floated into your conscious mind; a thought that you always wanted to erase, only that your sadistic mind has a funny habit of forcing you to remember it.
Just like the memory of being your grade school’s bet in the inter-school science fair, and crying on stage after the first question was asked regarding your investigative project. After making a fool of yourself in front of the judges (and, unfortunately, the other contestants including a future ex, your mother and her co-teachers, and, well, practically the entire district), you are spared from further embarrassment (could it get any worse?) when the emcee (your brother’s godfather) escorted you, sobbing, to the back of the stage. Until now, it’s a mystery why you cried. On hindsight, maybe you just wanted your future ex to win (she did; but didn’t buy this explanation).
Thoughts like this hound you for life, threatening to confront your lonesome any second in the future. While you’ve always thought of wanting to erase these thoughts, you actually realize that your sadistic mind has a purpose in forcing you to remember how painful it is to fall. Life is full of pitfalls and we are constantly reminded, albeit rudely, that complacency increases the probability of falling.
Don’t worry, though, because your cry-baby ass is still around. You can definitely bounce back from almost anything because, as the cliche goes, what doesn’t kill you only makes you stronger.
