Fathers, traditionally considered as the breadwinners of the family, seek various paths to bring home the bacon, er, bread. One such path is entrepreneurship, but the consensus seems to suggest that entrepreneurship is not for everyone. Still, everyone should be encouraged to try out the path of entrepreneurship.

John L. Gokongwei, Jr.: The Path of EntrepreneurshipOne way of inspiring and encouraging more Pinoy Entrepreneurs to swim in the sea of entrepreneurship is to write about those who’ve made it. This the observation of Marites A. Khanser, the author of the book “John L. Gokongwei, Jr.: The Path of Entrepreneurship” (Loyola Schools, Ateneo de Manila University, 2007). She noted, however, that “very few business success books of the taipans in the Philippines have been written seemingly because of their reluctance to tell their stories or go to the public with the secrets of their business success.”

Fortunately, this has been slowly addressed in the past year or two, with the publication of books on Pinoy Entrepreneurs, for Pinoy Entrepreneurs. Among these books is that of Mr. Gokongwei. Read more here.

    I just read your speech (2007)lately. I was very touch with your story. I told myself that I shoulld have more determination in order to succeed. Thank you very much for sharing your story. It inspires a lot to all young people like me who also want to succeed…..
