LTFRB Hotline

Posted on 27 June 2008 in On the Road

Jeepneys are called “Hari ng Kalsada.” But the way buses are throwing their weight around (no pun intended), buses should be the new “Hari ng Kalsada.” When you’re driving a bus and you swerve, maybe you expect other cars to stay out of your way. Or maybe smaller cars should stand their ground to teach these buses a lesson.

I figure you have one question right now: “Does it work?”

LTFRB hotline on a busThe Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) hotline, that is (and not standing your ground when a bus swerves towards your lane, which happens to be OUTSIDE the yellow lane). The answer: I’m not sure. The first time I tried to submit a complaint against a public utility vehicle (PUV), the 0921-4487777 hotline was not working, although, in fairness (sorry, I just can’t resist saying the abused “in fairness” phrase), it was ringing when I dialed it a while ago. Let’s hear from those who tried to contact the hotline to submit a legitimate complaint.

Some of the PUJ drivers are required the passenger to pay 8.50 with out their new tariff ( TWE 300 Malibay / Holiday route and NVY 340 Mantrade PRC route ) kindly assist the commuter and give disiplinary action to the abuse PUJ drivers.

  2. Dong, thank you for your comment. On the other hand, the purpose of the article is to get feedback from everyone, including you, as to their respective experiences with the LTFRB hotline.

  3. To anyone concern from LTFRB:

  4. To anyone concern from LTFRB: Kindly inform if the tricycle fares will be affected by the reduction of fare prices. You see the tricycle fare here in San Pedro, Laguna, is too high, even in Tambo, Sta. Teresita, Batangas, tricycle fares really hurts our pockets. Thank you!

  5. THE LTFRB HOTLINE DOES NOT WORK.
Not to mention the file a complain page doesn’t work either. LTFRB is ineffective to the riding public that have problems that need their attention.

  6. Yes I tried texting once (I think you should text and not call), and I got a response and a confirmation no. they even gave me a landline no. to call in case I wanted to pursue the complaint. I did not pursue the complaint by the way, since I thought it would be a waste of time/money/effort and the taxi driver was just not worth all the trouble. Piso lang halaga ng mga tulad nya….

  7. Jun, thanks for sharing that information. It’s highly likely that the correct procedure is how you described it — send a text message first. Let’s hear from the experience of others.

  8. To go along with the problems for sommuters, I would also like to air up my complaints for so long about the over prized fare of tricycles in our vicinity. The R.Papa BOTODA. Such drivers are arrogantly still asking on a 7 pesos per passenger which they raised by themselves during the gasoline was still 58 to 60 pesos per liter, we commuters understood their sentiments although the distance of their route is not that long, below 5 km. The commuters non-hesitantly paid for a 1 peso increase which was originaly at 6 pesos per passenger and they increased it to 7 pesos. Now for almost a month of continous fall of the prices of gasoline, they would not want to bring the old fare to 6 pesos and instead still taking an illegal 7 peso fare. Not mentioning the drivers who are not reprimanded by the association not to drive while in the influence of alcohol, as well as those who drives furiously without taking care of their passengers safety. Please let us make a make a move to stop this. Anyway most people hates corruption while they as a Filipino in a small scale/small sector is also a corrupt person!

  9. A lot of publicity has been released pertaining to reckless drivers and vehicular accidents but what does the LTFRB do about it? Our jeep was passing the Lagusnilad in Manila, near Manila City Hall, when suddenly in the middle of it we were hit by a passenger jeepney at the back of our owner type jeep. With the impact, I get startled and realized we were hit. The passenger jeepney driver offerred areglo but I refused to accept a “100 peso areglo?” without knowing how much will it cost to repair the damages. We agreed to have our vehicle be repaired in their “garahe” according to the passenger jeepney driver. Is it a wise move? We will be bothered to bring our jeep to the place the passenger jeepney driver agreed upon I still don’t know if we were not injured of the impact, but during the night after it happend, my back started to ache. Is it a wise and the right move?

  10. tricycles in balagtas, pandacan under PATODA are asking additional once they go to a street and it’s double the amount of the fare 7 pesos-14 pesos. is it really allowed by LTFRB. is this the right government body to complain or shall i see the president of the phils for this.
    thank you

  13. to all commuters and to all authorities who may concern: please be advised that a passenger jeepney with a plate no. TXU 265, with a route cubao – cogeo increased their fare without any advise from ltfrb. i may advise that DO NOT ride on this jeepney.

  14. For your information: Tricyle fares are regulated by the the Local Government Unit in your respective areas. You should call the attention of your local officials. It is not under the jurisdiction of the LTFRB.
