Seatbelts are safety gears in cars and all vehicles. Studies have shown that those wearing seatbelts are relatively better off in accidents, and accidents do happen, than those not wearing them. In other words, wearing seatbelts should come naturally to motorists, pretty much like bringing a cellphone.
However, for some strange reason, we want to be unsafe while traveling. We don’t want to wear seatbelts. And they have to make a law forcing us to wear them, providing for penalties in case of violations (Republic Act 8750, or the “Seat Belts Use Act of 1995,” which also provides that no child 6 years old and below are allowed at the front seat of any running vehicle).
