We will have another chance to praise the North Luzon Expressway (NLEX or, lately, just NLE), basically because it’s undoubtedly among the best, even the best, roads or highways in the Philippines. The highway is smooth and nice and travel time is considerably lesser (vis-a-vis prior the NLEX improvements or even the entire SLEX). There’s always the temptation to floor the gas pedal, but there are speed limits – with radars and cameras to enforce them.
Sure, the toll rates are quite expensive (but cheaper than the Skyway, and actually cheaper, on a per kilometer basis, than the South Luzon Expressway).
You won’t really mind those rates if you’re running at “nice” speeds, like so:
Now, if you’re still not convinced, you could take the MacArthur Highway, which starts at Monumento, Caloocan. Good luck. Really.

Last May 20, 2010, i encountered vehicular breakdown along NLE near San Simon exit. My stress was minimized due to the help of the noble patrolmen. I want to commend both Mr Davis, Adolf and Mr Sibug, Jacer for their help and concern. I salute you sirs for working with integrity and dedication. God bless.
