Official 2009 Holidays in the Philippines

Vacations are generally welcome, for Pinoy Dads to relax or spend time with the family. There are a number of factors when planning a vacation. Others who want a more relaxed and not-so-crowded vacation would want to have it when others are not on vacation. One of the factors to consider, therefore, is the date of holidays, primarily on account of the “holiday economics” in the form of long weekends. Here’s the list of declared regular and national holidays for 2009 (unless otherwise indicated, the dates were fixed through Proclamation No. 1699):

* National Heroes Day August 31, 2009 (Monday)
* National day of mourning for Minister Erano Manalo September 7, 2009 (Monday)
* Eid’l Fitr (Feast of Ramadhan) September 21, 2009 (Monday)
* All Saints Day (special non-working) November 1, 2009 (Sunday)
* Additional special non-working day November 2, 2009 (Monday)
* Eid’l Adha – ARMM only

    Wala bang magsasabi sa economic manager ni gloria na i-move yung april 9 to the next monday April 13, 2009. Kasi ipit na araw yung april 7 and 8 (Tuesday and Wednesday).

    Para tuloy-tuloy ang holiday. Holiday APril 6, 9, 10

    dapat April 9, 10, 13.

  6. Nikki, wala pa naman kaming alam na Proclamation ang Malacanang na nililipat ang August 31 na holiday. Ibig sabihin, sa Aug 31 pa rin ang National Heroes Day.
