With the usual traffic gridlock in and around Metro Manila, you’ll have plenty of time reading – even if you’re the driver – those interesting “reading materials” on the butt of the car which is in front of you. Here’s a partial list of the more common or interesting ones:
1. Among PUVs, “Kung ito’y iyong nababasa, sobrang lapit mo na!” (in short, “Distancia Amigo”), “How’s my driving?” (it’s like adding salt to the injury), and the LTFRB hotline (0921-4487777). PUVs also exploit the logos of the PNP, LTO and TMG. I know why they do that, but I need not say it because “Alam mo na ‘yan!” (another common sticker).
2. Scratch mark “=16”, beautifully etched after the “4×4” marking of an SUV.
3. Something which gives you confidence (“Follow me. – God”), and something which leaves you scared, very scared (“Don’t follow me; I’m lost”).
4. Among taxis, the logo of Victoria’s court (buti na lang nde kasama ang sticker sa itaas).
5. Something which makes you careful (“Baby on board”) and something which oozes with confidence (“Guapa on board”). Maybe I’m a scientist at heart, ‘coz I have this urge of overtaking the car to validate the sticker =).
6. My all-time favorite: “Lord, please give me patience. Now!” Indeed, patience is a virtue. (I’m still trying to get a photo of this sticker.)
