If you’re thinking to treat your little one to a halo-halo of good food, cool weather, great views and less pollution, there are still choices closer to Metro Manila than Baguio –  Tagaytay.

There’s a variety of choices, depending on one’s reason for going up to Tagaytay. There are hideaways for lovers and horse-riding fun for kids. The view of Taal Volcano/Lake by itself would interest anyone (well, almost anyone). And, of course, who can resist the cool relaxing atmosphere while sipping coffee or attacking a favorite dish.

Bulalo at Leslie's Restaurant, TagaytayIt seems Tagaytay has something to offer to any palate. Feast on corn while on the way up (buy corn near the Special Forces training grounds of the PNP, just after Sta. Rosa, Laguna). Bring home fruits (sweetpineapple, banana, watermelon and other fruits in season). Increase your cholesterol with the bulalo at Leslie’s or steak at Massimo’s. Dine on Filipino dishes and seafoods. Enjoy home-brewed coffee and gorge on cheesecake at Bag of Beans, or go green and savor vegetables picked fresh from the garden right before being served at Sonya’s Garden. The choices seem to be endless. Take your pick.

Or you could bring your own food and have a picnic at the Picnic Grove. Have a great time.

Thanks for the kind words, Gigi. I can see that your blog already contains the post on your food “stops” when you were in Tagaytay. Glad to know you one proud Fil-Am. See you around.
