A search string at topblogs for “marriage” caught my attention and so I followed it. There I saw a collection of blogs relating to, what else, marriage. But that’s not the point. The point is that there are so many blogs written by ladies and mothers, but only a few blogs by Pinoy Dads. Let’s look at the “facts”.

Here are some of the blogs of Pinay Moms that deals with family, relationships and life: A Filipina Mom Blogger, Mother of TwoWifeSpeaks, Wifely Steps, Liza’s Eyeview, A Mom’s Hub. These are already included in the blogroll, which you can find below.

For the fathers/men on family, life and relationships? I was desperately looking for a Pinoy-written blog dealing with fatherhood, so the Father Pinoy link category won’t shiver empty in the cold summer nights, as the Man from Manila would say. I tried thinking of reasons why it’s difficult to find father-bloggers.

Maybe Pinoy dads are too busy working, being the traditional breadwinner in the family. This, however, is too flimsy because women are increasingly recognized as breadwinners. Many mother-bloggers, in fact, supplement their income through blogging.

Maybe fathers are traditionally less likely to talk about matters like family and relationships, among other “mushy” topics. Men are conditioned to talk about sports, cars, politics and other “manly” stuff.  TV shows and magazines aimed at women abound, but the brave [wholesome] few which cater to men wither away (no pun intended).

Or maybe I’m not looking hard enough.

Anyway, I found The Husband Speaks, but it’s offline as of this writing. I found another one, the Father Blogger, which is one of the emerging influential blogs for 2009 (read his latest post on saying sorry to our children).

I’m still looking for bloggin’ Pinoy fathers. If you know one, please let us know.

Thank you for including my blog on your list. I am so glad that you found me, as there was a time that I am also looking for Filipino father bloggers who blogs about being parenting but barely found one.

Anyway, my blog was also offline for 2 weeks since I have no enough money to sustain it. But my blogging friends who happen to be Filipinos too helped me a lot.

I hope you also watched my video on You Tube which is my speech when I won the Top 10 Influential Blogs of 2009, in which I have a blog post that contain the video.

    Nice meeting you, kabayan!

You’re welcome, Angel (if I may call you Angel), and congratulations again on being the top Influential Blogs of 2009. I’ll check the video that you mentioned.

I guess you found it difficult when your blog was offline . . . ang hirap makitang hindi gumagana at sasabihan ka ng mga kakilala mo, pare, ano ba nangyari sa blog mo. If there’s anything I could be of help with, please let me know.

    Thanks for dropping by.

Rommel, thanks for dropping by and letting us know that there are many more blogging Pinoy fathers. I’m sure you’re excited about your baby on the way. Not as excited as the mother, but excited nonetheless. How is it?

By the way, tried to follow the link to your blog, but it seems not working? Please give us the correct link so we could also visit your blog.
